The teenage years can be tough on teens as they work hard to be successful in school, with friends, and figure out who they want to be. Today's teens often face additional challenges in dealing with bullying, body image, and pressure to be academically successful for college. This is hard on their parents as well!
I have extensive experience working with teens and their parents to help work through this transitional time on their road toward becoming successful and content young adults. Often the teens that I work with are struggling with anxiety, depression, and/or their relationships with friends and peers. I use a dialectical behavioral therapy approach to help teens work through strong emotions and develop coping and interpersonal effectiveness (relationship-building) skills.
I'd be happy to speak with you about your teen- or with your teen directly- let me know if I can help.
